Steel is far superior to plastic!

Plastic loses. Every scoop leaves scratches you can't see, and those scratches hold moisture, bacteria and urine. That's why an old litter box smells even after you've washed it. The odour isn't on the plastic, it's in it. So you replace it. Then you replace it again.

Will it rust?

My cat is a digger. Will litter go everywhere?

Won't an open box smell more?

My cat is used to a covered box. Will they switch?

Most do within a few days. Put the new one next to the old one, keep the same litter, and let them choose. Don't remove the old box until they've used the new one a few times.

How do I clean it?

Hot water and washing-up liquid, then dry it. No bleach, no chlorine cleaners, no steel wool.

Can I use my usual litter?

Yes. Clumping, crystal, wood pellet, paper — all fine.
